Kittie Pie

Well, it is official, the brainwashing is done. We now have a toddler who is obsessed with her kitties. She loves the REAL kitties, of course, and walks around saying "itty" and following them, until they escape in their "safe zone". When she sees them, she quietly shushes us, since we are always saying to her, "Be gentle, be quiet, kitties like quiet." Her shush sounds like a very quiet snake's hiss!

She also does this really cute thing when she is up close with Isabella or Ferdinand (which usually requires that one of us is there to help her from scaring the kitty away). She kisses her finger and then gently touches the kitty on the nose. It is very cute!
Joy has quite a collection of stuffed kitties as well. Some are realistic, some are striped and have polka dots. Others are puppets. She loves them all and kisses them, along with the books about kitties. This has been quite a lesson in psychology for us, as she is definitely learning from mom and dad that kitties are a good thing.

We visited Grandma and Grandpa Ruppert's house today for lunch. Joy was excited to make friends with a stone kitty in Grandma's garden. The stone kitty was the "purrfect kitty", very patient and never tried to run away!
